I’m interested in finding out the purpose of the Fallopian Tubes, being a female myself I would like to know more information about the reproduction system.
The function of the fallopian tubes is to provide a pathway that enables the mature egg that has been produced to travel from the ovaries to the uterus, which plays a crucial part of ovulation and conception. It is in the fallopian tube that conception happens, meaning the egg is usually fertilized here. If the fallopian tubes aren’t operating properly, the egg cannot become fertilized by the sperm.
A muscular ligament called the fimbria ovarica joins the fimbrial end of the tube and the ovary. When an egg is ready for ovulation, the fimbria ovarica contracts to pull fimbrial end of the tube even closer to the ovary. Millions of tiny fine hair-like cilia line the fimbria and the inside of the fallopian tubes, they beat in waves, hundreds of times a second which catch the egg at ovulation and draws it into the fallopian tube. Muscular contractions of the tube and the cilia of the lining move the egg along the tube to meet the sperm and the egg gets fertilized. This movement in the fallopian tube can take from a few hours to a few days.
Other cells in the tube's endothelium nourish the egg and lubricate the route during its stay inside the fallopian tube. If an egg doesn't become fertilized within 24 to 36 hours after ovulation, it will be removed by the body's immune system like any other dead cell in the body. The cilia will continue to beat until the embryo reaches the uterus. Implantation usually occurs in the uterus about 1 week after ovulation.

I have finally found out and fully understand the purpose of the fallopian tubes! They are a vital part of the female reproduction system. It's where the egg and sperm meet and form an embryo, so the tubes are forming the main link from the ovaries to the uterus. If we didn't have them ovulation and conception wouldn't be possible.
